I miss my brother, more than I ever imagined. He took care of me, his younger brother, when I was a skinny, foureyed kid, all the way through high school. I never thanked him enough.
Bless him!

I remember Bob from 35 years ago when he was one of my instructors on the B-727 Program. He was one of the good guys always willing to help and fill in and work for the betterment of our Line Pilots. He was an exceptional instructor who taught with strength and humor. He was always a pleasure to see when he would come visit my office and ask for a few days off so he could go fishing. He loved the low country and I am sure he will be missed by his family and friends. My prayers are with you.

I met Bob many years ago through a mutual friend, Rit Lemke. Over the years I had several interactions with Bob, sometimes at home, Other times traveling. I knew Bob, and one day he was the 2nd officer of a DC8 I was on for a flight operating LAS DAL ATL. On the DAL stopover he came back to talk to me and tell me one of the hydraulic systems was out but they were going to ATL anyway. I know now they got permission to defer, but it scared me - Bob’s intent? On another occasion I ran into Bob in SFO and we started talking; he was staying at the crew hotel, The Canterbury Hotel, not a luxury hotel but typical for crew layovers. Bob said:”where are you staying?” Traveling on business for Delta, I had more options and got a great airline rate at a luxury hotel on Union Square. My answer: “The St Frances!” Bob was shocked & it aggravated him bc of the difference, thinking I was part of management that got a better hotel at the pilots expense. Hahahaha, but not really the case as I had freedom of choice depending on the rate I could get. On another day I ran into Bob at the Atlanta airport. He had his non-revenue attire on-tie and coat for his commute to Savannah. I was dressed in shorts and an Izod shirt, headed to the West Coast. He was aghast and said “look how I am dressed!” Funny as he looked at my casual attire. What he did not know was that I was traveling on a confirmed -write your own ticket- not subject to non-rev rules. I really liked Bob - he was such a nice guy. He had a dog named White Boy - a puppy that followed him everywhere and would sit on his shoulder when he sat on a couch. I was able to take my son to Richmond Hill for his first hunting trip with Bob and Rit. They had Mason drive for them and had a great time. That weekend was finished off with a crab boil out on Bob’s dock on the swamp. A few years ago I got an invite from Rit and Bob to attend the ACC Championship game with them and Bob’s wife in Tampa. What a great night that was. Bob was a great man, Rit’s very best friend and someone that we all liked. I attended his and Teresa’s wedding in Savannah at the chapel located on the WWII Army Air Corp - Station Hunter Field; outside there was a marker commemorating POWs and the Bataan Death March that my dad was a part of. Bob will be missed!

So much love to you all!! Bob and Dad were both legends in their time.. and both are missed tremendously, but I am glad they are reunited again! Prayers, love and hugs for you all!
