Yancey D. Anderson, 47, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at home.
He was a life long resident of Richmond Hill and a member of Bryan Lodge No. 303 and Richmond Hill United Methodist Church. He was a 1982 graduate of Richmond Hill High School and attended Savannah College of Art & Design and Armstrong Atlantic State University.
He was preceded in death by his father Lee Roy Anderson Sr.; brother, Lee Roy Anderson Jr.; and brother-in-law, J.E. Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hughes of Richmond Hill; son, Forest Tyler Yancey Anderson (Morgan) of Richmond Hill; daughter, Simone Ray of Effingham County; mother, Joyce Anderson Todd; three grandchildren, Hanna Grace Anderson, Jordan Roberts and Elias Nadi; sisters, Dawn A. Clark of Richmond Hill and Pamela A. Ellis (Douglas) of Jesup; nieces and nephews, Charlotte A. Clark, Ashley A. Boland, Jonathan D. Ellis, Mason Lee Clark and James A. Ellis; two step-children, Kenneth Hughes and Amy Hughes Bolt; and several other family members.
His funeral is at 3 p.m.Saturday at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel in Richmond Hill. Burial will follow at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, 1775 The Exchange SE, Suite 200 Atlanta, Ga. 30339-2016.
Arrangements are by Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel of Richmond Hill.

Oh my heart is breaking. I am so sorry to hear of Yancy passing. He was special to me. He was a unique man with a warm heart and a loving spirit. He always knew how to make people laugh and smile. He was a good man and will be greatly missed. May God bless you all and give you strength to be strong. May you be blessed with peace and comfort. I am so sorry i did not find out until today or I would have been there. My thoughts and prayers to you all. Love you guys!!!Suzanne Adams
