Michael L. Manon, age 75, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at his home in Defiance. Mike was a mechanical engineer who worked at Aro Corporation for over 20 years until their closing, then at Powers & Sons for another 15 years until he retired. Mike was an avid golfer, former member of Riverside Greens Golf Club, enjoyed sudoku and other puzzles, and trips to Myrtle Beach.
Michael L. Manon was born on Feb. 3, 1949, in Bryan, the son of Thayne E. and Janice E. (Morley) Manon. He married Gail E. Okeson on Sept. 19, 1970, in Bowling Green, Ohio and she survives him.
Mike is also survived by his sons, Lonnie Manon, of Ney and Shawn Manon of Chicago; daughters, Beth (Tim) Groman of Fort Wayne and Kim (Ramon) Esquivel of Defiance; eight grandchildren, Tristan, Bentlee, Gabriel, Zoe, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Abel and Weston; and brothers, Jerry (Jill) Manon of Bryan and Larry (Brenda) Manon of Ayersville. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Nicole and Ethan; and sister, Suzanne Kimmel.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 W. Mulberry St., Bryan. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Pastor Greg Cramer officiating. Mike will be laid to rest at Evansport Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions to the family for the purchase and planting of trees at Bryan Recreation Park.
