Robert E. "Bubba" Arend III, 35, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio, with his family by his side. Bubba was born Oct. 27, 1989, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of Robert E. and Sue A. (Crites) Jr. He was a 2008 graduate of Fairview High School. Bubba worked as an inspector and packager at Allied Moulded Products in Bryan for 12 years until his recent medical leave. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Hicksville, and as an aviation enthusiast, enjoyed membership with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). Bubba was an avid collector of scale model airplanes, enjoyed electronics and computers, loved all things Disney – especially Mickey Mouse and traveling, including multiple trips to the Oshkosh Air Show.
Surviving are his parents, Robert and Sue Arend Jr. of Mark Center, Ohio; sister, Ashley (Eric Hankerson) Arend of Orlando, Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Bubba was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert E. and Martha J. Arend Sr.; maternal grandparents, John M. and Frieda M. Crites Sr.; and by two uncles.
Visitation for Robert E. "Bubba" Arend III will be held Monday, July 14, 2025, from 4- 7 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 N. Main St., Hicksville, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 Antwerp Drive, Hicksville, with Father Daniel Borgelt officiating. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Florida.
