Edward McAllister Obituary

Edward W. McAllister
Edward W. McAllister, of Washington Crossing, PA died peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021, with his family by his side. He was 64.
He was Karen McAllister's beloved husband for 40 years.
Born in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Clarence "Bud" McAllister and Bernice Raider McAllister.
Ed grew up in Washington Crossing and attended the Council Rock schools. After high school, he attended West Virginia University where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Ed cherished the lifelong friends that he made at WVU and their bond over Mountaineer sports.
Following his time in Morgantown, Ed returned to Washington Crossing and began working fulltime for McAllister Construction, his family's business. Alongside his parents, brother, wife, cousins, extended family and dedicated employees, he worked for the company for over 40 years and served as its President. Ed treated his employees like family and cared for them deeply, which contributed to the success and growth of the business. Ed took great pride in the company's work with builders and developers to create many of the beautiful neighborhoods in our community as well as Jericho National and Makefield Highlands Golf Clubs. Ed leaves a legacy of hard work, dedication, honesty and loyalty at McAllister Construction.
Ed loved his community and dedicated his time and resources to making it a special place to live and work. Ed passionately supported the Upper Makefield Business Association for decades. He regularly attended monthly membership meetings, volunteered at the Revolutionary Run, served on the Scholarship Committee and grilled delicious pork roll sandwiches at the Grange Fair. Ed also treasured his many years as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Newtown Artesian Water Company.
Ed was an avid golfer who played many of the best courses in the world and was a proud member of the Lookaway Golf Club. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Lookaway, the Friday and Saturday morning Shore groups, and those that accompanied him on golf trips. If he was not golfing, Ed loved to hunt with his family and friends.
Ed made his fondest memories in Cape May where Karen and he shared a home for over 20 years. On any given summer Saturday at the Shore, Ed could be found going to the beach with Karen, working on the house, playing with his beloved grandchildren in the pool, watching the Phillies, entertaining, eating, drinking, grilling, listening to music or dancing with his loved ones.
Ed always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. He was quick-witted and loved to tease while being friendly, generous, positive and optimistic. Ed loved to be around people and have fun, which he was uniquely able to create under any circumstances and at any time. Ed's love for Karen and their four beautiful daughters, his extended family and his friends will endure forever.
In addition to his loving wife, Ed is survived by his four children; Meghan McAllister Roberts and her husband Bryan Roberts of Newtown, Caitlin McAllister Martino and her husband Michael Martino of Newtown, Tara McAllister and her wife Lydia Thomas McAllister of New Hope, and Jodie McAllister Alicea and her husband Albert Alicea of Washington Crossing, his brother Glenn McAllister and his wife Eileen McAllister of Washington Crossing, his twin sister Cindy Slimak and her husband Randall Slimak of San Angelo, Texas. He is also survived by his 7 dear grandchildren; Olivia Keenan, Chase Roberts, Sloane and Sawyer McAllister, and Adrian, Abel and Silas Alicea.
Ed's mantra was "life is good" and a good life he lived, filled with love.
His funeral service and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Upper Makefield Business Association, PO Box 43, Washington Crossing, PA 18977, https://www.uppermakefieldba.org/ems

Eddie and I were good friends during our teenage years in Washington Crossing. He always had a smile on his face and good things to say about pretty much everything and everyone. I’m so happy to know that he carried his positive outlook throughout the rest of his life. Condolences to his family. Erik Johnson
