Florence Durigg Obituary
BUCYRUS: Florence M. Durigg, 92 of rural Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Maplecrest Assisted Living. Florence was born March 8, 1925 a few miles east of Bucyrus to the late Jacob and Pearl (Abendroth) Wagner. She was married May 7, 1944 to Paul E. Durigg who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2010. She was also preceded in death by sisters and brother in laws Ruth and Harold Kocher and Naomi and Ken Holland; sister in law Joyce Wagner; son in law Tom Pettit; and granddaughter Michelle Yeargin.
Florence is survived by daughters Beth Burdick, Albany, OR; Joyce (Dave) Apel, Wooster; Linda Pettit of Bucyrus; and Phyllis (James) Witherell, Pomeroy, OH; grandchildren Becky (Troy) Williams, Albany, OR; Phillip (Tara) Apel, Creston, OH; Jason (Cindy) Witherell, Portsmouth; Josh (Katie) Witherell, Mt. Gilead; John Witherell, Pomeroy, OH; and husband of Michelle Yeargin, Rocco Yeargin.; 12 great grandchildren; brother Arthur Wagner, Bucyrus and sister in law Maryella Hitt of W. Virginia.
Florence worked for many years at Bucyrus Community Hospital as an LPN. Following retirement she continued to work as a Hospital Volunteer and Volunteer for the Salvation Army. She was a graduate of North Robinson High School and received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of the Bucyrus Methodist Church and longtime member of the Ever Faithful Sunday School Class. Florence was involved with many activities at the former Grace U.M. Church. She enjoyed gardening and canning.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Bucyrus Methodist Church with burial to follow in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Church Memorial Fund or the Salvation Army.
