Lawrence Baldy Obituary

GALION - Lawrence J. Baldy, 69, formerly of 326 S. Columbus St., Galion, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Fairview Manor, Bucyrus, surrounded by his family. He had lived with Multiple Sclerosis since 1972.
Larry was born in Erie, PA on April 11, 1939 to the late Joseph B. Baldy and Christine (Mingus) Baldy, who survives in Columbus.
Larry lived in Galion Since 1970, having moved from Columbus. He was a retired Funeral Director. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Galion. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Larry was a loving husband and father. He also loved to restore vintage cars.
He is survived by his former wife, Sandra L. (Spangler); his two sons and two daughters, Andrew Scott and Kathleen Baldy, Sunbury, Julianne and Andy Knoblock, North Lawrence, Lori and Duncan Klimionok, Kingwood, TX, Joseph and Amy Baldy, Galion; fifteen grandchildren, Tho Nguyen, Megan Baldy, Kelly Baldy, Allison Kurzen, Samantha Kurzen, Paul Kurzen, Collan Knoblock, Hillary Ivy, Krista Klimionok, Cody Klimionok, Karah Ivy, Rose Klimionok, Tiffany Baldy, Tristan Baldy, Taryn Baldy; his sister, Sr. Sharon Baldy, S.C.N., Columbus; and his brother, Mark And Valerie Baldy, Crofton, VA.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brendan Baldy.
Friends may call Sunday from 6:00PM - 9:00PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. A Vigil Service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Sunday, with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 12, 2009 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Galion, with Rev. John Brennan and Rev. Fred Schill, Celebrants. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Galion.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Joseph Catholic School, both in care of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion.
