Mary Rowlinson Obituary
GALION: After a courageous battle, Mary Catherine 'Kit' Rowlinson, 67, of Galion, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.
Kit was born in Martinsville, IN on January 28, 1947, to the late Billie and Martha (Riblet) Dias. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Rowlinson, on December 24, 1965, while he was home on leave from the Army.
A 1965 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School, she began employment at Hercules in Galion. She was employed as a secretary in both the junior high and high school at Colonel Crawford Schools, and at Eckelberry's in Bucyrus. A vibrant part of her company and her profession, Kit has been at Ohio Mutual Insurance Group, Bucyrus, since 1985, and was Claims Operation Manager. She has been a member of The National Assoc. of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) since 2002. In 2008 NASP recognized her efforts when they awarded her the "Spirit of NASP" award. She was instrumental in the creation of 'Subro College' curriculum. Kit taught classes and gave seminars at NASP. For seventeen years she taught a water aerobics class at Colonel Crawford.
Kit loved to shop and it showed in her elegant style. She was always 'dressed to the nines'. She loved the ocean and being at the beach. She enjoyed quilting and completed numerous special quilts for her family. Her family was the love of her life. She was The Best Grandma in the World and was extremely proud of her six grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Richard, her three daughters and sons-in-law: Amy and Chuck Coffman, Attica, Jennifer and Adam Link, Bucyrus, Katherine "Kate" and Ben Perkins, Galion; her six grandchildren: Nicholas Coffman, Morgan Coffman, Sydney Link, Madison Perkins, Jaxon Perkins, Landon Perkins; her one brother and two sisters: Susan (Dean) Bower, Galion, Richard (Joy) Dias, Rockport, TX, and Nancy (Kevin) Gulley, Bucyrus.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Rowlinson and her grandson, Logan Coffman.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline, with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.

I always remember the times back in the early 50's. when the Dias family lived on Rt 30. I am a first cousin of kits mother. I lived with them for a few months back then and always thought they were really good kids. I was sorry to hear of Dick and the family,s loss. I did not know of her passing until Tuesday morning. Please know you are in my thoughts and do share your sorrow. She will live on in my heart. You have my deepest sympathy
