Randall S. Shatzer

TIRO: Randall Scott Shatzer, age 60, died Monday, August 31, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 17, 1954 in Shelby to Lester L. and Rosemary (Poffenbaugh) Shatzer, he has been a Tiro resident his entire life. A 1972 graduate of Buckeye Central, Randy also graduate from Pioneer Technical Center in the Auto Tech Department. He has been a mechanic his entire life devoting all of his time working on top fuel dragsters. He last worked for Kalitta Motorsports. Randy also volunteered for many years on the Tiro, Auburn Volunteer Fire Department and is an active member of the Tiro Village Counsel.

He was a member of the NHRA, the Moose Lodge in Willard and the American Legion in New Washington. Randy enjoyed Golfing, working on cars, mowing the yard, traveling and dearly loved his cats and dog.

He is survived by his wife, Cari W. "Ball" Shatzer of Tiro, whom he married January 22, 2015; sister, Janet Eusey of Tiro; brother, Richard (Sharon) Shatzer of Tiro; step-son, Caleb W. Cotton of Galion; special friend, Erin Greenburg of Maryland; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Georgia Cotton of Galion; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Robert "Wimp" Eusey.

Funeral service will be held At 11:00 AM Wednesday September 9, 2015 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Chaplain Jed Brake will officiate with internment in Oakland Cemetery, Tiro. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00-4:00 and 5:00-9:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Tiro Auburn Fire Department or to Home Care Matters Hospice.

Rest in Peace my dear cousin Randy,
My thoughts and prayers are with you Dick and family,
I will always remember Randy as a very hard worker he loved his cars, and his friends and family!
Haven't seen him in years! But, always thought of him ! RIP!
