Dr. Gounard was such a dear to me and to all international students! He encouraged me to press through, to achieve excellence, to apply Fulbright scholarship and Who´s Who award. He is the leader of the international student organization promoting cultural inclusion and pride for all. We worked together to develop cultural events and festivals to achieve successful cultural exchange. He also cultivate the best welcoming culture for all international students connecting with host family program. This is an enormous help for students who are going through cultural shock and home sick. He is such a loving and bright scholar to all of us!

He knows my country and my country's leader is always wearing a flower in her hair. When I went to his office, he always smiled and asked me do you wear a flower today like your leader?I am really grateful to his great support and kindness during my years as an international student. He is a kind-hearted person and always supports the students.
I will always remember his kindness and help.My deepest sympathy to the family.
May his soul rest in peace.

I will always remember Dr. Gounard. I was supervisor of the campus mail room and he would always call me by my cousins name who also was employed on campus. I finally said Dr. Gounard just remember princess Diana and you will not forget my name. Following that conversation he would always come in with a big smile and say "hello princess Diana" He was a treasure. My condolences to the family.
