Of Buffalo, NY. Beloved father of Roxanne (Mark) Whipkey, Alan Jerge Jr., and Jason Jerge; cherished grandfather of Emersyn, Reese, Alan III, Brennan, Christian, Tamrah, Gabriella, and Lucy; dear brother of Sharon (Howard) Winkler; predeceased by siblings William Vaarwerk Sr., Donnette (Don) Ryan, Kaye (Paul Sr.) Womax, and Jan (Pam) Jerge; also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends. Alan was a proud US Army Veteran that served in the Vietnam war. He was past owner of Laurel and Hardy Tavern in Buffalo and the Overtime Sports Bar in Sloan. Alan was also an avid bills fan. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Monday October 13th from 3-7PM at the DANIEL R. SMOLAREK FUNERAL HOME, 2510 Union Rd., Cheektowaga (2 blocks south of William St.) where a prayer service will be held at 6:45PM followed by military honors. Donations may be made in Alan's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter. Please leave condolences online at www.SmolarekCares.com.
