It feels like yesterday I was watching Alex and Jennifer get married... I am in such shock and feel so incredibly sad for the void for those left behind. Jennifer and I have been friends since we were 14 and it has been a joy to watch her grow and reach so many milestones with Alex over the years. Their children will carry the legacy of a special well rounded dad who seemed to do well at everything. What a great loss for your family. Wrapping my arms around you and still cannot believe this has happened. Lots of love from California. Cate (Bloem) and Rob O'Reilly

Dr. Gress, (and family), I am very sorry to read this. I met Alex at a 43 North event. When I saw him I knew immediately it was your son. I had moved away from Buffalo for many years and as soon as I saw him I had a flashback to my Accounting years at Canisius. I approached Alex about you, and he smiled and said yes, you are his dad.
I am thinking and praying for your family. My sincere condolences.

I didn´t know Alex but his obituary crossed my newsfeed through Buffalo Triathlon club and I felt the need to reach out. My father passed away after a cardiac arrest during a swim race 5 years ago so I relate very strongly to what you are going through and I am so so very sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you as a truly understand the grief
