Alfred LENZNER Obituary

LENZNER - Dr. Alfred R., MD Entered eternal rest March 23, 2014. He was born April 5, 1918 in a parsonage in Yonkers NY, where his father, the late Rev. Alfred Lenzner, was a Methodist minister. Dr. Lenzner attended Buffalo's Riverside High School (where he met his future wife, Lura Jean Hislop). He attended Cornell University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, graduating in 1943, and then practiced at the Buffalo General Hospital where he headed the Diabetes Clinic for 25 years. He transferred to Kenmore Mercy Hospital in 1975. Between 1953 and 1955 he served as Captain in the U.S. Army's Medical Hospital in Wurzburg, Germany. He retired from active practice in 1999. His wife, Jean, passed away in 2002. His remaining relatives include his sister, Ruth Mann, his daughter, Marilyn Williams and husband Jay, and his son, Paul Lenzner. His grandchildren include Brooke and Brett Williams and Elise Lenzner. German relatives include a cousin, Udo Lenzner, of Wassenberg, Germany, and a niece, Hilda (Lenzner) Frotscher, of Zeulenroda, Saxony, Rev. Lenzner's town of origin. Dr. Lenzner's burial will be private. A memorial service will be held late Spring. Remembrances may be made to the Chapel at Crosspoint, 500 Crosspoint Parkway, Getzville NY 14068.
