I am so thankful for meeting Mr. & Mrs. Doerr. They opened their arms, as well as their hearts, to make me, Wendy & Brooke feel so welcomed, into the Nazareth Family. Truly, a Christian inspiration. Always, giving words of encouragement. I know I will see those open arms and hearts again.

Alice, Harold and the girls together again - praising God and hugging Jesus all together with all the other hosts of heaven. What a scene it must be. No more tears or pain.

Alice was my best friend. A mother to me. My adopted gram. Closer to me than any of my real family. She was always there for me, birthday's, graduations, holidays, you name it etc etc etc. I would come to her house everyday in the summer to play with her animals and swim with her in her pool. To visit her, her family, late husband, Harold. Her and Harold helped my parents pay for me to attend Nazareth Lutheran School in my early years. She was the most independent and stubborn woman I have ever known. The last time I saw her, I stopped by in my work clothes. I was her "Police." Her health had been deteriorating and I knew it. That stubborn, independent woman I had known all these years had gotten older. She had been learning to use a walker with an aide. When she came around the corner from her living room to her kitchen and she picked her head up, her eyes lit up and she smiled that smile. Oh yes she did. That look alone I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I used to call her everyday while in the US Air Force, stationed in Massachusetts. We would catch up and just talk. Talk about anything and everything. Just hearing her voice soothed me. When I moved back to Buffalo I would visit her. One time, I even snuck my gecko, yes I said gecko into her hospital room to brighten her day. She loved him, his name is Squirt and I still have him. She saw the best in me and brought out the best in me. In her eyes, I could do no wrong. She brightened many lives of that I am certain. If anybody ever deserved a ticket to the other side, it would be her.
