Andrea Magro Obituary
April 5, 1944 – October 23, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Andrea Margaret Magro (formerly Heinz), age 81. Andrea was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend whose kindness and adventurous spirit touched countless lives.
Born on April 5, 1944, Andrea was welcomed into the Heinz family by Alfred and Alexandria in Colden, NY. After losing her father at age eight, she and her mother moved to Cheektowaga, where she grew up and later graduated from Maryvale High School in 1962.
Andrea raised her family on Grand Island and built a successful career as a small business owner, operating several daycare centers throughout Western New York. She was a founding member of the Day Care Association of Erie County and a passionate advocate for early childhood education.
A longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Buffalo, Andrea served faithfully on the Vestry, the Altar Guild, and the foyers and collection committees. She had a deep love for travel and delighted in exploring new cultures and cuisines.
Andrea was widowed on June 3, 2000, following the unexpected passing of her husband, Donald J. Magro Jr. In later years, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Gary Pfeiffer of Sarasota, FL, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2025.
As a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother, Andrea relocated to the New York City and Washington, D.C. areas to be close to her children and grandchildren, always placing family at the center of her life.
She is survived by her children, Wendy Millan (Adrian Millan) and Mark Magro (Vidisha Parasram); her grandchildren, Harrison, Grant, and Emma Millan; Kira and Ayan Parasram Magro; Laurene MacTaggart and Brent Schrenk; and her great-grandchildren, Petra and Rory MacTaggart.
A memorial service will be held at Christ's Church in Rye, NY, on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Andrea will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her entrepreneurial spirit, and her joyful embrace of life's adventures.

Wendy and Mark and families I am so terribly sorry to hear about your Mom. I have so many wonderful memories of working at airport with her. She started out as my boss but became a treasured friend I will miss her and keep her in my heart forever.
