Andrea Schad Obituary

Schad, Andrea S.

November 11, 1974 - November 29, 2024

Paulding, OH. Andrea S. Schad, a compassionate soul and dedicated community member, passed away at the age of 50 at CHP Inpatient Hospice in Defiance, OH after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born in Buffalo, NY, to Albert and Norma Rutecki, Andrea's life was a testament to love, resilience, and community. She devoted her life to caring for others, first and foremost her beloved family, but also countless individuals through her dedicated work as an EMT and LPN and her active involvement in her children's sports. Andrea's battle with cancer began in December 2019, but she fought with a strength and determination that exceeded all expectations. Despite the toll of chemotherapy, she never wavered in her commitment to her family. Time and again, she would leave the hospital and head straight to the softball field, cheering on her daughters with unwavering support. Her family was her heart, and she found joy and strength in their presence, always putting them first. For over 25 years, Andrea served as an EMT in both Williams County and Paulding County, where her compassion and professionalism left a lasting impact. She was often recognized by those she had helped in their times of greatest need, a testament to her profound influence on her community. Andrea is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Schad; her daughter, Kara (Riley) Hart; son, Tyler (Chandra) Drinnon; and daughters, Jalyn and Mariah Klopfenstein. She is also survived by her mother/sister, Sandy (Bill) Paben; sisters, Tina (Bruce) Bradshaw, Rene (Joe) Koenig, Jody Kenney, Angel Plessner; and brother, Todd (Lark) Rutecki. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Gracelyn and Kameron Hart and Carson, Addilynn and Mason Drinnon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Norma Rutecki, and her brother, Albert Rutecki, III.

Andrea leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and selflessness. Her devotion to her family, her dedication to her community, and her unfaltering spirit will forever be remembered. Though she is no longer with us, her light continues to shine through the lives she touched. A celebration of Andrea's life will be at Den Herder Funeral Home, 1000 W Wayne St., Paulding, OH.
