Ann Calinski Obituary

Ann Louise (Buckley) Calinski passed away on August 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. Her final days were spent at home, surrounded by family and friends, and she heard from loved ones. She was beloved by her family and everyone who ever met her.

Born June 25, 1947, Ann grew up in Danville, PA, and graduated from Bloomsburg State College in 1969 with a degree in education. She started her career as a Special Education teacher in Western New York and later served as an aide to children with special needs.

Ann devoted much of her life to her family, serving as a stay-at-home mom and finding joy in raising her four children alongside her husband of 55 years. She filled their lives with crafts, sports, volunteer work, and memorable summer trips across the U.S. and Europe. A gifted crafter, she especially loved quilting and contributed many to Project Linus for hospitalized children.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; children Joseph, Karen, Diane, and Daniel; granddaughter Ana Lucrecia; and daughter-in-law, Angela Calinski, and son-in-law, Samuel Walton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald C. Buckley and Mary Ruth (Girton) Buckley, and her brother, Gerald R. Buckley.

A celebration of life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association. If you are looking for a way to honor Ann, consider creating a craft project in her memory or volunteering with a local charity.

Yesterday

My sincere condolences to all of you.
Ann was a wonderful person and such a talented individual in so many ways. I always admired her interactions with her young students , so kind and caring. She was so proud of her own children and was always happy to share their accomplishments! I was blessed to know her and work beside her. Rest in peace, Ann.
