Anthony Genco Obituary

Anthony Joseph Genco, 87, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. Born in Buffalo, New York, to Charles and Florence (Muscato) Genco, Anthony lived a full and joyful life devoted to his family, music, and community.

A proud veteran, Anthony served in the United States Marine Corps, where he played trumpet in the 2nd Marine Division Band. His love of music continued throughout his life - he played trumpet in several bands in The Villages, sharing his passion and talent with countless friends and audiences.

Anthony worked for 43 years at Materion (formerly Williams Gold Refining Co.), where he was known for his dedication, reliability, and warmth. Beyond his career, he was a man of many interests. He enjoyed golfing, playing poker, traveling, savoring good food, and above all, spending time with his loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryl Greenbaum Genco; his children Karen (Tonya), Diane (Aimee Williams), and Charles (Holly); and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. Predeceased by his brother, Joseph (Alice).

There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Anthony's memory. Neptune Society is handling the final arrangements.

Anthony will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and the music he brought into the world - a melody that will continue in the hearts of all who knew him.

Yesterday

I keep hearing his laugh, his "A!...." . He was such a connector, a sociable man with a never-ending smile - except during his nightly snooze in front of the TV. I was privileged to jam with him as he showed me how to access jazz back-up tracks. SO much fun and a lasting memory for me that lives on.
