Arthur BASCOMB Obituary
BASCOMB - Arthur Lawrence "Artie"
Age 65 of Brookfield, CT passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Arthur grew up on Grand Island, NY. He graduated from Grand Island High School and then attended the University of Toledo, OH, where he played football for the Rockets during their 35 consecutive win streak, which currently ranks as the fifth-longest in major college football. He later coached at Heidelberg University before returning to Toledo as a coach. After turning in the pigskin, he went on to become an accomplished executive in the Paper Industry for over 30 years. Arthur is survived by his spouse Jean Page, daughters Ame Bascomb-Damaso and Laura Bascomb-Werth, stepsons Jay Page and Christopher Page, grandchildren Isobel and Oliver Werth and Nola and Killian Page and sister Bette Dickey. Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Arthur Bascomb, mother Dorothy Gunn Bascomb and brother Robert Charles Bascomb. A memorial celebration will be held in Brookfield, CT on Saturday, July 26, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to a charity of your choice in Arthur's memory.
