I have known Barbara since we were teenagers in Port Arthur. When I worked as an usher at the Strand Theater, Barbara worked at the candy counter and her father was the theater manager.
After graduation from HS, I went into the Navy and never heard from her for several years. Then one day at mail call, I rec'd a letter from her. After my discharge and through my college years, we dated very often. She finally decided on a career in NY and I hardly ever saw her after that.
I heard about her illness and I regret that this finally took her life. However I still have fond memories of our times together.

I have known Barbara since I was very little. She was like a second mom to me. She always thought of my sister and myself on our birthdays and at the holidays and our birthdays were one day apart. I will miss her dearly. She will be entertaining everyone in heaven with her singing and dancing.

I had known Barbara (Putty)for 62 years as a "younger sister" and a fellow musician, as well as a dear friend. I was so glad she came to visit me in 2006. May she sing with the angels.

Barbara and I were friends in grade school, Franklin, in Port Arthur, and we always kept in touch wherever we were. Even though we did not see each other as often as we would have liked, I will miss the opportunity to pick up the phone and talk to her, send her a funny e-mail, or remember some of out adventures while in school.

I have known Barb now for a number of years and she was wonderful person and a dear friend. I will miss her and Angelo but I will remember them both forever. I only wish I could have had them in my life for a little longer.
