Brown Peruzzin Obituary

At St. Thomas, Ontario on Friday, May 23, 2003, formerly of Buffalo, NY, in her 80th year. Born in Buffalo, May 15, 1924; daughter of the late Casper Czysz and late Mary (Kuca) Zelawski and step-daughter of the late Louis Zelawski. She attended Buffalo Public School #26, St. Valentine's School, South Park High School, Buffalo and Buffalo State College for Teachers. She held a B.S. in Elementary/Special Education and a M.S. in Supervision/Administration. She taught at Randolph, NY Central School, the New York State School for the Blind, Batavia, NY and at the Olmsted Center for the Visually Impaired, Buffalo. Sophie was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas, a 3rd degree member of St. Thomas Lodge #76, I.O.O.F., a former member and officer of Quota Club International and Delta Kappa Gamma, Batavia, NY and the Byron, NY Firemen's Auxiliary; wife of Wilfred G. Brown and the late A. Raymond Peruzzin; step-mother of Kent Brown and his wife Carolyn, Pamela Taylor and her husband David, and Dawn Helmer; also survived by seven grandchildren. A public memorial service will be conducted at Knox Presbyterian Church (Hincks & Mitchell Sts), St. Thomas on Saturday, May 31st at 1:30 PM. There will be no public visitation prior to the day of service. Following cremation, private interment in the Buffalo Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or Knox Presbyterian Church gratefully acknowledged. SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas, (519) 631-1160, entrusted with arrangements.
