Nagel Family - I just heard today about Chuck's passing. I worked with him at the air base way way back in the day. I use to live in south buffalo before moving to hamburg. Chuck gave me a ride home during the "Blizzard of 77" I could not have rode home with anyone more prepared than him. I had the opportunity to see him before he retired when I set up a conference at the new training ctr. He told me he was going to retire. Chuck Nagel Family, I knew Chuck for over 20 years at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. I was happy my husband Mike and I were able to spend a wonderful afternoon with Chuck and his wife this Spring. He will be sorely missed, Warm Regards, Mary (Capparelli) and Mike Mounts

My deepest condolences to you and all your family. I remember Chuck from when we were kids and my Mom and his were good friends. He was a role model that led me to the Air Force way back when. Looks like he continued being a great role model all along wherever he went. May God Bless You.

Chuck was a wonderful Father & Grandfather we were very lucky to have him in our lives. He taught my children and I many things. My children were very fortunate to have a Grandfather who was so knowledgeable about so many things & taught them so well. He was a very patient & wonderful Grandfather. I have a son who respects no one more in the world than him, and a daughter who will remember hearing..."good morning beautiful" as the first words spoken from her grandfather each and every morning. All I know is they were both very blessed to have a Grandfather to talk to, teach them, let them try on their own & treat them the way only my father could. I was very blessed to have him as my Father. It was an honor to be called "Charlie's Daughter", or to hear "Charlie's Grandkids" & I will not ever forget him, nor will my kids. I do not know of many others who have had so many accomplishments in such a short lifetime. He left the Air Force teaching then went to ECC to do the same. One of the things he loved was teaching & being around the students. It was great some of them even showed up at the wake last night, that said a lot about him as well. I know he loved his family, his fellow firefighters & friends so very much. He told me many times that he felt he was the luckiest man to have "caught" my Mother. He will be very missed! I love you Dad & thank you for everything...XOXOXO!

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. Janice and family, Chuck has been a big part of our lives for the past 25 or so years. He will be greatly missed by both myself and Shirley. Knowing Chuck and being part of the same lifestyle with HFD has been my honor. God bless you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Nagel Family,
Know that Chuck's legacy lives on in each one of the firefighters around Erie and Niagara County he helped mold. He has a better seat to keep an eye on you, and help you through tough times. He will celebrate along with you in your triumphs. Know that although he is not with-in arms reach, he is just a thought away. He remains a dedicated man to his family, friends and his community. Chuck lives on in many people. Look around you at the friends and extended family at HFD. They are your network, lean on them.

Jan & family- My memories of Chuckie are when he was a young, handsome, lovely boy- I was his mother's oldest and best friend and we spent alot of time together. I am deeply sadened to hear of his passing-and pray for all of you in your time of grief.

Jan, we will miss Chuck so much at the fire hall. He was one of the greatest assets here. He was always there to answer questions and give advice. He was a truly dedicated man.
