For 37 years I called him Dad, I could not have picked a more loving, caring and devoted man for "Mum".. For all these years he always intruduced me as "Our Youngest or Our Son" and refered to all of us as one of their 9 kids..Charlie is one of a kind, I will miss him and mom dearly but I am at peace knowing he was the first in line when the day came for that one way ticket and they are together again.

Many in the Boys volleyball community know him as the "father of WNY Volleyball". He meant so much to so many people. But to me, he was my mentor and dear friend! Many a day, as a young teacher and coach at CH, I spent in his office listening to the stories of his experiences, soaking up the wisdom that he shared with me. I have never known a kinder, big-hearted man, ever! (And every athlete that has ever had the great fortune to play for him would confirm this sentiment!)
As I look back, there is no one (other than my parents) that has had a greater influence on me and the person I have become! Mr. O´Brien was a true gentleman. The last of his kind. He truly will be missed, and I offer the entire Cleveland Hill community´s condolences to you, his family.
