Cheryl Chambers

1952 - 2026

At 6:14 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, Cheryl Denise (Sammarco) Chambers completed her final race on earth. She was 73 years old. Finishing strong, she entered into the loving embrace of her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Cheryl passed peacefully from the arms of her devoted husband, Dr. Timothy P. Chambers, while resting in her bed at the Hospice Center, and into her eternal home. Cheryl and Tim were just three months shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

The final months of Cheryl's life were challenging as her long battle with kidney disease worsened. Yet even during this season, she was deeply grateful for the opportunity to spend meaningful time with family and friends who shared how profoundly she had impacted their lives.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Dr. Timothy P. Chambers; her daughter, Bethany (John) Duarte; her beloved 7 Grandchildren, her sisters, Beverly (Tommaso) Briatico, Debra (Ken) Nemcovich and Marilyn Sammarco. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sammarco and Marvel Scott Sammarco, her sister Lauretta Sammarco and her daughter, Sara (Chambers) Gerig.

Cheryl and Tim were the founders of the Christian Counseling Ministries of WNY in Williamsville, New York. For 35 years, Cheryl served there as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, faithfully helping individuals and families navigate mental health challenges, relational struggles, and addiction issues with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith.

She was a longtime member of the Chapel at Crosspointe in Williamsville, New York. After retiring and relocating to California, she attended The Fields Church in Carlsbad, California, where she continued to grow in faith and fellowship.

Cheryl lived courageously with kidney disease for 49 years. She underwent two kidney transplants and endured numerous related health complications. Despite these ongoing challenges, she embraced life fully and joyfully, demonstrating resilience, gratitude, and steadfast trust in the Lord.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 12:00 noon at The Fields Church, 2265 Camino Vida Roble, Carlsbad, California.
