Know that my prayers go out to you at this time. I was a co-worker with Tina at YO! Buffalo - Youth Opportunity Program, and I can surely remember her beautiful bright smile and winning attitude when it came to helping and working with our troubled youth. Tina will surely be missed, but never forgotten. Rest in Peace Tina with the Angels!!

I only "knew" Christina as an online friend. She was always funny and pleasant to talk to. Always kind and gentle to everyone I could see her come in contact with. She could touch your heart without even meeting you in person.
I can't find the words to explain how I feel about her passing. When someone you have never met, makes you feel this way, you know that person was truly amazingly special.
May God keep her close.
My most sincere thoughts of condolences and prayers go out to the entire Rivers family.
Please find comfort in knowing she found and fulfilled her purpose in life on Earth.

Tina, I am in tears right now looking for an answer to why God would take you from us! Well I know he wanted that bright smile and wonderful personality in heaven with him. No more struggling baby! No more sorrow! You have made it over! I will always love you in my heart. I just lost one of my true friends! When I was down you was there for me. Sleep on Tina!

Tina was the kind of person who could captivate a room with her smile and graceful demeanor, one who you couldn't help but notice for her inner strength, poise and beauty. I had the pleasure of meeting Tina through an after school program (S.T.E.P.) we both attended during our high school years. She was always a pleasure to be around. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family and loved ones as they grieve her passing.

Dear Shirley & Charles,
I spent time looking at pictures of the showere we threw for Shirley when Christina was being nurtured in the womb. My heart and my prayers go out to you. There is comfort in God's arms where she now rests and awaits your arrival. As I read the tributes I see that she touched many lives in her thrity-two years on this earth. God will comfort you for taking such good care of one of His angels.

Tina, you were my rock, you gave me encouragement when I needed it most, and was never afraid to tell me with a loving heart, of when I was doing wrong. I remember you telling me before Gabe's wedding, "Josh, I believe that god wants me to be in New Orleans to be closer to my Joshua" Well Guess what cuz, you were there when I needed someone the most. I will miss the conversatiions that we used to have until four in the morning, from the time that I was a freshman, until the time of your departure. I praise god that I had a chance to know you and love you. I remember how you always gave me a hug and a kiss, and told me "I love you" everytime I saw you. It's gonna be hard to not have my counselor around, my friend, my teacher for Jesus, but I promise you Tina, I WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN. Thanx for having faith in me, thanx for never giving up on me, and it is because of you, I walked across the stage a week before you past. Sleep on Tina, I will see you when I get there. Christina was the light of my life. She brought me so much joy in time of sorrow and uncertainty. Because of her encouragement, I didn't do alot of silly things that I would have regretted for the rest of my life. Because of her, I returned to New Orleans to complete God's will for my life.
She was God's precious angel, full of grace, mercy and kindness.
I will forever miss her smile, her laughter, her sincerity, but most of all her spirituality.
She's resting with God, now.

"Death is a destination, birth is a beginning, LIFE is a journey". Tina has reached her destination with the Lord. In her "journey" she has provided the world with real courage and has given gifts of immeasurable welath to those that greatly loved her and those lives that she has touched. I had the pleasure of meeting Tina in my senior year of high school. We attended classes together and I had the opportunity to witness her faith firsthand, and her courage through adversity. To the family I want to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss in having her present here on earth, but know that she has reached her "final destination" and the LORD has met her and greeted her with " a job well done, my faithful servant". I offer my deepest symphathy to the family. I am also saddened that I can't be there to offer words of comfort. Every since I heard the news all I have been able to think about is when she was a baby. So beautiful, I would babysit and just look and think "Oh how pretty". TINA a beautiful young lady and a free spirit. She is in god's loving arms now. We all loved her, we always will and she will be missed so very, very much. Be strong.

To everyone within listening distance,
Please join with me in wishing the family and friends of Christina Rivers well wishes as they go threw this extraordinary time of grief. Tina was a bueatiful person and had an awesome will...her easy spirit made many of the opportunities I enjoy now obtainable and real… She was my employee, my friend, my gate keeper and a sister to me. As overly protective I was to her she was as equally and protective of me and the person I am and have become. She embraced the imaginative side of us all… her free flowing advice and flow assisted and sustained many of us over her life. Her presences touched everyone she came in contact with and she embodied the true sprit of the Weed and Seed efforts in Buffalo. Assisting us as we “Weeded” out the societal ills of communities… she found herself planting the social gospel of true and hope as she knew it… Sometimes with a preach word or with the bueatiful charm she possessed. Her lost while impact full and unmeasured is the Lords gain. Wherever you are as you read this let us learn to celebrate life and living the way our Tina would have wanted us to do…more abundantly.

My only personal connection to your family's sadness is through Ves, and his interaction with my late son Alex during his own unsuccessful battle against cancer.
Ves, if you have been a fraction of the bright spot for your own family as you were for Alex, then the love surrounding Christina during her battle is beyond all measure.
Let not your hearts be troubled; the promised place has been prepared for Christina in heaven. It may seem like an eternity to us left behind until we join Christina and Alex and the rest of our lost loved ones in that wondrous place. But join them we will... and for all eternity.

My husband called her Annointed Rivers and she would often call for words of wisdom, comfort and guidance. Tina was a very talented and vibrant young lady. Even up until the day before she passed she was such a fighter. Her tears showed that she was in her body trying to get free. Now she is free in deed. I do not doubt that she is in the presence of the Lord. It is He whom she belonged to and loved. It was His name that was always on her lips. She is truly being comforted. Although it may be difficult for us to live without her she has become a part of that great cloud of witnesses that will be cheering us on until it is out turn to see the Lord face to face. With love adoration and great respect for the life and accomplishments of Tina that we send ou deepest condolences to her family on the loss of a true jewel. God Bless and Keep you during this time.

We did not know each other well, although we were cousins. We relocated from Buffalo in 1980 while you were at an early age. Time brought distance, and distance time. Our lost! For not knowing a young lady like you! Upon learning of your illness we prayed for a healing and that God's will be done. Well God answered our prayers of healing. It was not the miraculous healing of all symptoms leaving you, nor was it a slow healing through doctors and medications. It was the ultimate healing in which you transitioned from this life to your eternal life. Scripture tells us (Christians) to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. We honor God in our praise and worship for your healing.
