Almost a month has gone by and the one thing I can't get over is why we didn't say goodbye to each other the last time we were together. The one person at any family get together that would be the first to say goodbye.. and we didn't. And that was the last chance we had.

Dear Cindy and Peter,
After just being back in Langford for Amy's funeral this is so real and sad to see you have to go through the same thing. We are never ready for this. We want just one more day, one more season, ten more years - we want forever with them. It hurts so much. The only comfort I hope to offer to you is that, knowing you, and knowing your family, you raised a beautiful young man, more than ready to welcomed into heaven with all of the people we have so loved and and are already there, waiting for him with their arms opened wide.
This is so very hard. When all you feel is the loss of him - yet know in your hearts that there are very gentle, loving hearts, people known to him, who were there to embrace him in a wonderful peace and joy. You will soon see signs of his presence - helping you, guiding you - making your life the way it should be. Easier. Trust - in seeing a flower bloom where it really shouldn't have, you will see a bird come to you and act strangely, these will be your signs that he is blessed and with you, and you don't have to be so sad. Living among the beauty of nature out there in Langford, that is where he will speak to you.
You will find a new understanding of the sorrows of others, and in your hearts you will know what to do. That is what we were created for and what Collin lived to teach us. To help and to guide. Collin will lead the way. He will lead you out of this awful sorrow into joy. It will all be Collin, telling you that he is not really gone - but that he is with you always, in his sweet gentle way. And he wants you to know that, yes, grieve, and cry, but that on the other side of that grief - he is really okay, and that he is always with you.
I miss my Amy every moment of every day. I cry myself to sleep more nights than not. I pray that these days will end. I was only her Aunt, if this is so bad for me, I can only imagine the sorrow of Eileen and Chris. But I look on her life and who she was to each of us and I know that the only thing left to do is to remember all the good she did and pray that she will guide me now that she sees God.
I am so sorry. If I could take your pain I would.
Know that you are loved.
