To our family: Like my sister my best memories of Uncle Craig were when I was younger, as we always lived apart over time. However, growing up, I was always told that I looked like my Unlce Craig... mostly because I was tall. When he and I would get together we would joke about it knowing we looked nothing alike. He was there with strong words of support for me during tough times of losing my own son, or ex wife. A man like this should have stayed with us a lot longer. I am sure however that he is with GOD and in a better place. I will miss you Uncle Craig:)

Uncle Craig, I'll miss you. It was good to have an uncle as close as you. You were also my good friend and we shared many deep things of the heart over the years. It's hard to fill the void in our hearts left by your passing. Words seem like folly at a time like this. . . all I can say is "I love you". My sincerest sympathies to all who were touched by this kind man.

To all our family and friends alike of my dearest Uncle Craig Herlan. Although my fondest memories are of him when I was younger, growing up, the feelings remain the same. I always enjoyed his visits to Buffalo, NY, esp. when we would go to the Buffalo Bills Pre-Season Games together. He was so full of life and fun, he never missed a chance to make us laugh! He will be truly missed by all of us and his memories will remain in our hearts forever. A special thought for my Mom, Carolyn, who I know misses her brother dearly....please keep the thought that Craigs suffering ended quickly and he is where we all will meet again in harmony. One last note to Uncle Craig, just in case you find some time in that beautiful new world you have gone to...Please pass along my expressed love to my recently passed father; Paul. I miss him truly! I know the two of you have a lot of catching up to do!

To our entire family, I want to share my thoughts of my "Baby Brother". and the best brother that anyone could have. I was blessed to have been with him when he passed. Thats what he always asked of me to be with him if anything ever happened. Thank you God for making that possible. My heart goes out especially to Julie and Craig. I loved him very much and will miss him forever. Big Sister.

Dear family of mine: We have not had the greatest opportunity to spend quality time together due to our distance in location, but I hope you all know how i miss you all and have you in my thoughts at this time. I will miss uncle Craig very much. I will never forget the dance we shared at my mothers wedding when i was a little girl. He died way too young but i feel god has his reasons and needs him up there. We will all meet again someday and get that big hug and kiss and share more memories. I love you Uncle Craig and please give my father a big hug and Kiss for me. God bless everyone. XOXO's to you all.

Dear Carolyn, Tina, Roger and families,

I was very saddened to hear of Craig's passing. It seemed so sudden since I found out just last week that he was terminally ill. Dad (Earl) called from Florida to tell us the news and that there would be a memorial service up here but I did not realize it was going to be so soon. I am sorry to see that I missed it.

I'm so glad that we were able to reconnect with the Herlan (Huber) cousins after 25+ years and to see Craig at the family reunions he attended.

My deepest sympathy to all of his family and friends.

Love, Evie (Huber)

I had the pleasure of working with Craig the last 4 years. He always knew how to make me smile even at the worst of times. He was a great support system for me at the loss of my brother and again a few months ago at the loss of my sister. He and I talked about Buffalo (Go Bills) as that is where my sister lived. They don't come much better than Craig. He was a great man and wonderful friend. My sympathy goes out to his family at this time.

I first met Craig in 1970 when we both liked different girls together (they were twins). Craig always said we went to different high schools together. We were the very best of friends and remained close over the years. Everyone should be blessed to have at least one friend as loyal and special as Craig during their lifetime. We had many memorable times together and he will surely be missed by all that knew him. No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you Julie, Corky, family and friends as you grieve.
Craig, If I don't see you around here...I'll see you around, hear.

Dear Julie, My sincerest condolences on the loss of your Dad.

Michael & Sharyn Greenhill

July 28, 2008

Dear Julie & Craig: Sharyn and I send our heartfelt condolences to you and your respective families. The loss of a father and family patriarch is understandably inconsolable and we extend our empathy to you. Your father certainly will live on not only in your hearts, but vividly in the legacy and memories you created together. A human being passes on his or her legacy to family descendants so the spirit lives forever enshrined in the works you do, and how you live your lives to emulate his. His legacy is now yours to pass on to your children, and that is his everlasting and precious gift to you. May you treasure that comfort in the fondness of his memory.
