As his daughter, I have an entire lifetime of favorite memories, hundreds of photographs adorning walls, shelves and in my mobile phone gallery. But one particular comes to mind as I pore over my mother's old snapshots from the early 1970s. It's a picture of my Dad, my Grandfather and me in the middle. Dad has one of those smiles that cameras love to capture and my Grandpa Wally who is also smiling because he knows why my Dad is in full tilt belly laughter...the tights that they had dressed me in when i was entrusted to their care were on backwards...it's one of my most cherished memories because it reveals the essence of my Dad in that very blink of an eye. Light hearted, full of life and fueled by a sense of humor that served him well throughout his lifetime. He embraced all facets of life experience, welcomed any opportunities for new adventures and shared his stories with a zest that could captivate any audience. In his nearly 77 years, my Dad found himself in countless circles of friends, making them effortlessly and keeping them for the long-term. Dad had an energy about him that just drew people in and even on his most challenging days, Dad always punctuated them with a healthy dose of humor. I'm truly blessed to have had my Dad for 54 years and I will continue to cherish each picture we took, every occasion we shared with family and friends and all the memories that a lifetime can produce. Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things I'll ever have to do but the lessons my Dad taught me, the laughter we shared and the Love he had to give will provide me the comfort and peace to move forward with the Best Gift he could have given ...Life itself.
I love you Dad and your memory will be a blessing that I carry with me for the rest of my days. May you rest peacefully in Heaven's eternal glow and always remember how much I loved you...

My condolences to Marian and the rest of Dave's family. I had the honor of knowing him through the Legion. He always had a smile and was a dedicated member and supporter of Post #735 and a really great guy. Rest in Peace good sir and thank you for your service to our country!
