Beloved husband of Christopher Freitag, dear father of Shawn Esis, loving grandpa of Ava and Grayson, son of the late Fred and Clare (Cook) Esis, brother of Judy (John) Buczkowski and Frederick (Trudy) Esis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call Sunday from 12:00 noon-3:30 PM at the JAMES W. CANNAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3155 Orchard Park Rd. 716-675-9027 where a Funeral Service will follow at 3:30PM. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Roswell Park and or the Alzheimer's Association in David's memory. David was President for 6 years at C.R.C. Drug Prevention, a Docent at the Richardson Complex, a Kansas State Graduate of Architecture and a friend to everyone. Online condolences at www CANNANFH.com

Aw, dear wonderful friend David! My heart is so very heavy, but I wanted to best champion the good and happy spirit of the loyal friend that I knew - and greatly cherished. My God, where should I start? My favorite memories of you David, involves greeting you at your store at the Main Place Mall (down-town Buffalo) just about everyday. I (as a longtime downtown Buffalo worker) would "pop by" just about every work day to briefly chat and share a laugh or two with you. It always greatly lifted me. One year it was my birthday and you grabbed up a few chocolate bars as my gift and said, "Happy Birthday!" I laughed like hell! He apologized for not having them "gift wrapped." That was David. God bless you Chris and all of your good family.

Rest easy Uncle Dave. I will always remember your gentle laugh. I loved listening to your accounts of recollecting memories of Grandma and Grandpa. Seems like Grandpa was in trouble by the end of most of those accounts . I love you always Uncle Dave.
