Of Orchard Park, NY passed after a long illness. Husband of Pat Kroll (nee Nelson) for more than 60 years; Loving son of the late William and Evelyn (nee Rorick) Kroll. Dave was the proud father of René, Randy (Lynn Sutton), and Scott (Christine) Kroll; Grandfather of Niko (Amanda), Alena, Marek Piekarski, Becca (Matt Glover) Kroll, Brandon, Max, and Felicity Kroll; Great Grandpa of Aurora, Emma, Roy and S.J.; also survived by several nieces, nephews, as well as his sister, Jan (late John) Kogutek. A U.S. Army Veteran and a past member of American Legion Post #567 and a current member of American Legion Post #362. He is also a present member of the Royal Order of the East Aurora Moose Lodge 370. Dave was a longtime member of the Orchard Park Jaycees and enjoyed being involved in many projects including the Quaker Arts Festival. He retired in 2004 as a Fraud Investigator for the County of Erie. He was also involved with the Orchard Park and Erie County Republican Party. Family and Friends will be received Tues. 10/28, 3-7 PM at LAKESIDE MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4199 Lake Shore Rd., Hamburg, NY 14075, 716-627-2919. A Funeral Service to follow at 7PM. I have known Dave through Pat since I was a little girl. Pat and Dave were close friends with my parents.we attended each other's family functions. After Dave and Pat moved to Orchard Park, Dave would come back to the city for me to still babysit for Rene', Randy and Scott. I would spend the night and the next day with them. Dave helped me pick out my second car. He was pall bearer at my own father's funeral. He gave me advice at times. Even if it wasn't exactly what you wanted to hear, he always gave his honest opinion. After my parents passed away our friendship continued, and I knew that they would be there if I needed anything. I have always valued their friendship and he made me feel like family. I love you Dave. Rest in Peace.

I worked with Dave in SID. He was a great person. Always made me laugh. Sorry I haven't seen him since I retired . He was such a good friend. He will be missed.
