Terreri - David J.
David James Terreri, 69, of Essex, VT, took his last breath on Thursday, May 4, 2023, after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and dementia. Dave was born and grew up in Buffalo, NY, in a home filled with love and lasting memories as one of six children and the first born son of the late Dominic and Marie (Leto) Terreri along with his favorite sisters and brothers: Donna (Bill) Cummings; the late Jim (Michelle) Terreri; Michael (Malinda) Terreri; Donald (Mary Beth) Terreri; and Marylou Terreri. Their close-knit Italian family also consisted of many aunts, uncles and cousins and grew over the years to include Dave's many nieces and nephews. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Terri Terreri; children: David D. Terreri; Anthony (Erin) Terreri; Nicki Terreri; John (Ilke) Sappo; Stephanie Sappo; and Christopher Sappo. Dave was blessed to have his grandchildren in his life: grandson "DJ" Terreri and granddaughters Alja and Rija Sappo. They lit up his life every time they walked in to the room. Before Parkinson's got the best of Dave, he worked for many years in the ice hockey industry, including Bauer and CCM//The Hockey Company as the Vice President of Distribution and Customer Service where he developed many close friendships during his career. Dave was stubborn and did everything humanly possible (many times to his own detriment) to fight his illness to the end. If you wish to help find a cure for this terrible disease, please consider making a contribution in Dave's memory to: The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research PO Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741
https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate We are forever grateful for the love, care, and support provided through the years by our close family and friends. and to Dave's BAYADA home hospice health care and support team: Allison, Evelina, Jennifer, Kelsey, and Justin who filled the last months of Dave's life with comfort and compassion. Stephanie said it best during her eulogy..."While it doesn't make it any easier on our hearts knowing that Dave is no longer with us, the one thing that does, however, lessen our pain is knowing that he no longer is a prisoner of his body and is no longer suffering...he's probably sipping on Glenlivet (18 year), smoking a cigar, eating cannolis, snacking on peanut M&M's and having a good laugh with his parents, brother Jim, Uncle Vito and Bacchus (his buddy and the best dog ever) by his side." We will love and miss you, Dave, always... Private services were held in Vermont at the convenience of family.
