Dawn Hanavan Obituary
Age 72, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 24, 2025. Beloved wife of Franklin Hanavan; devoted mother of Rebecca (Timothy) Razel and Daniel Rogers; loving daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy (nee Hund) Mescall; dear sister of Diane (Lawrence) Zukowski, Dennis (Debbie) Adams, Linda (David) Harm, Arline Adams, Paul K. (Joanne) Mescall, Yvonne Mescall, Thomas (Rosemarie) Mescall, James (Margaret) Mescall, late Margaret Mary Mescall; late Karen E. Browne, late Madonna (late Eddie) Radecki, late Michael (Suzie) Mescall and late Joseph Mescall; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Dawn lived by the motto "If you love Irish girls, raise your glass". If you don't, raise your standards. Relatives and friends may visit LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME, (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Road, Orchard Park, near Lake Ave., on Wednesday (Jan 29th) from 4 to 7 p.m., where prayers will be held Thursday morning at 9 a.m. Please assemble at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dawn's memory may be made to FeedMoreWNY, 100 James E. Casey Dr., Buffalo, NY 14206, or online at www.feedmorewny.org. Inurnment Holy Cross Cemetery.

Dawn was a great friend to me and my wife. From tomatoes to good conversation. I first met Dawn while at WNYCOSH as a board member. When I became treasurer she and I worked together for a number of years. I will miss her banter.
