Denis FUNSETH Obituary
Age 86, passed peacefully at home with family in West Seneca, NY, on December 14, 2020, after a long illness.
Denis was a beloved father to his three children, Sarah, John (Lisa) and Karl (Elizabeth); and a devoted "Farfar" (grandfather) to Riley, Caroline, Grant, Emery, Cecilia and Evelyn. Denis was born in 1934 and lived in both the Hamlet of Ebenezer and Elma. He graduated from West Seneca High School and Buffalo State College. He married the late Linda Robinson Funseth. His career in education began as a teacher in the Iroquois School District. Denis will be most fondly remembered as the dedicated, affable and fun loving Wales Elementary School Principal during the 1960's - 1990's. Denis lived a full life of compelling experiences and loving relationships. He thrived on telling stories and jokes. He eagerly made friends everywhere he went. Denis was a committed Master Mason with the Blazing Star Lodge, and an Ismailia Temple Shriner. He was a devoted member of St. Luke's Anglican Church in East Aurora. Due to the pandemic, all memorial activities are on hold. Information will be forthcoming when available. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Denis to the Buffalo SPCA and Buffalo Hospice. Condolences may be made online: www.COMFORTFUNERALHOME.com

Sarah, John, & Karl - So sorry to hear about your dad. Denis was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. After he retired (I was still working), he would constantly remind me that he going fishing or traveling somewhere, just to bug me. He´ll be missed. Mr. Funseth was my principal at "Woodchuck" Road Elementary. He was warm,friendly and genuine in his role there. Nothing but find memories of him. Loved his hats. Thoughts and prayers for his family.
