When I became a Board Member at the City Mission Ed was Board Chairman. He had such a welcoming spirit. Later I became Executive Director, Ed was always available for support and advise. His spirt was infectious particularly when we would played golf. the foursome was Ed, Mike Vincent, Don Tom and myself. We recently lost Tom a few weeks ago. We had many laughs on the golf course. I'll miss you Ed, but I know you are in a better place.

Ed was my F/SGT and one of the finest men I had the honor of serving with. He was the epitome of what a New York State Trooper should be. Honest, sincere and respectful of everyone he interacted with. He was a true friend and always will be remembered.

Ed and I along with John Hollander and Sal Valvo rode many weekends together as we went to Peekskill for troop school he was always worried he would not make it and with his age it was his last chance we asked each other many questions on those trips. Glad we all made it. Over the years we seldom saw each other but I have many lasting memories of a great guy

F/Sgt Kusmierczyk was one of the first persons to welcome me as a new employee of the NYSP in 1985. He was a tall gentle giant who showed authority and wisdom with kindness. I have never forgotten him and never will. Rest in peace Sir, as I believe you have your wings.
