Of Champaign, IL, entered into rest June 19, 2022. Beloved mother of Laura (Donald) Keefer, Cheryl (Brandon) Greene and David G. (Grant Burton) Harbison; loving grandmother of Ryan, Sunny and Jenna. Loving daughter, born April 25, 1939, to late William A. and Elsie M. (née Peterson) Grondahl; sister of Bruce R. and Rose (née Kantowski) and William J. and Patricia (née Doherty); former spouse of late George R. Harbison, father of her children; also survived by nieces, nephew and friends. Cremation rites have been accorded by Sunset Funeral Home, Champaign, IL. Relatives and friends invited to service and interment at Elmlawn Memorial Park, Sunrise Mausoleum, 3939 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY at 10am, Saturday, August 13, 2022. Born in Buffalo, NY, Elaine was a 1956 graduate of Kensington High School and 1977 B.A. graduate of Empire State College. She was an acknowledged artist in the area, showed in many exhibits and Albright Knox Art Gallery, as well as taught many evening art classes. Moved to University of Illinois as PBS WILL-TV Director of Learning Services until retirement. Started her own business building a web-based instructional-technology marketplace. Her biggest accomplishment was her children growing up to be vibrant, confident and independent adults who loved her very much and will deeply miss her.
