Of Cheektowaga, NY. Beloved wife of the late Donald J. Burns. Loving mother of Franklin (Susan) Burns, Ronald (Kathleen) Burns, William (Cheryl) Burns and Susan (Kevin) Barrett; Cherished grandmother of William Burns, Keith (Jennifer) Burns, Ryan Burns, Jennifer (Matthew) Shilling, Stacey Burns, Whitney Burns, Aaron Burns, Nicole (Nick) Demetriou, David Morris, Kristy Barrett, Kelly (Brendan) Stone and 17 great-grandchildren; sister of the late James (Lynn) Rhow. also survived by nieces and nephews. The family will be present on Friday September 19 from 3-7 PM at the NEW COMER CREMATIONS & FUNERALS, 5090 Transit Rd., Depew, NY 14043. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church (Genesee St at Union Rd.) at 10:00AM. Please assemble at the church. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. Betty was a secretary for the Cheektowaga Police Department Detective Bureau for 22 years. My condolences to the entire Burns´ Family. Mrs. Burns was always so kind and generous. At times I considered her a 2nd mother, since I spent so much time at their house. I told her that one time and she gently yelled at me. " You only have 1 mother and don´t forget it." Everyone who grew up on Melcourt, we were very fortunate to have wonderful role models and Mrs. Burns was one of the best. We became better people because of her.
