Elizabeth SCHWARTZOTT Obituary
Of Hamburg, NY. Entered into eternal peace at home surrounded by her loving family on August 19, 2022. Jane was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Buffalo, NY at an early age. Before marrying her husband of 58 years (Norton), she was employed in the mortgage department at M & T Bank. She left her career and devoted herself to raising a family. She was an avid patron of the arts, serving as a docent at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery for many years. She enjoyed concerts at ArtPark, Shakespeare in the Park, rummage sales, reading, and rides in the countryside. In addition to her husband Norton, her family includes three daughters, Amy Schwartzott Munguambe (Makolwa), Polly Gates, and Heidi Schwartzott Wilson; and three grandchildren, Charlie, Jacob, and Carter. No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at SS Peter & Paul Church, 66 East Main St., Hamburg, NY, Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by: CASTIGLIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 824-6435. Jane, my beautiful and very private friend. You lived a life of grace and love.
We were best friends in our youth always dressing alike, appreciating the latest crazes, and growing into young women together. I was your very willing audience sitting on your morning-glory decked porch as you read the poetry you loved to write in your teens. Later you were the one who remembered all the little adventures we had as teenagers that I had forgotten, and you would recite those to me. We´d reminisce and laugh and we were young again.
I already miss knowing you are in this world. Love always. Joanna,
