I remember how your dad and mom would go square dancing and the lovely outfits she wore. I loved the bright sunny eating area of your kitchen and how your mom's door was always open for visitors (especially little girls who loved dogs - Schultzy).

I have very fond memories of both Mr. and Mrs. Hoad. Her love of gardening sticks in my mind and really influenced me. I've had gardens all my adult life in part due to her influence.

Condolences to the family. My mom, Norma (born 1927), says that after high school at the Sunday night young adult gathering at the Amherst Church, my dad the late Donald B. Johnston (husband of Norma (Landel) Johnston, knew Bob Hoad from their working at the phone company and urged him to come to the group. This is where he met Ethel. They often joked how Don was to blame for their marriage. After the meetings the group would often head out to the Rob Roy Tavern or have outings to Chestnut Ridge Park and other places.

My condolences to the family during your time of sorrow. May God comfort you and give you the strength to cope (Psalms 46:1).

Hi Carol, Marilyn and Don
I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I was just thinking of her and your dad last week. Doesn't matter how old our folks are we still feel like orphans when they're gone.
Sending prayers your way.
