F. William Obituary

June 29, 1956 – April 1, 2016

William F. Perkins, of Amherst, owner and president of Flomotion Systems, died unexpectedly Friday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. He was 59.

Born in Kenmore, he was a 1974 graduate of Kenmore East High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1981.

Upon graduation, Mr. Perkins worked for his stepfather, Donald J. Schwartz, in a company that specialized in water pumps and flow meters. He purchased the company in 1987 and renamed it Pertech.

He later founded Flomotion Systems, which manufactures and distributes pumps and flow meters. He traveled the world meeting business associates in Europe and Asia.

He enjoyed skiing, sailing, bicycling and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, the former Patricia Naber; three sons, Joel, Scott and Mark; his mother, Bibianne Schwartz; two brothers, Mark and Marty; and three sisters, Anne, Mary and Polly Geren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 200 St. Gregory Court, Amherst.
