Age 72, of the Town of Tonawanda, died at his home surrounded by loved ones on February 5, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 3, 1948 to Frederick H. Adams and Loretta E. (Texido) Adams. Fred attended Kenmore West High School. He served in the United States Army, where he was a Ground Surveillance Radar Crewman and Assistant Gunner during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Eastern Paralyzed Association for Veterans. After his return home from the military, he met his wife Holice (Holli) Kutchmyre at Manor Lanes. On September 7, 1979, he joined the Sheridan Park Fire Company, where he was a life member. He held numerous offices and was on numerous committees. He was very dedicated and knowledgeable. He served as Secretary for 8 years and was a Commissioner for 15 years. He coached little league softball and enjoyed bowling on the Fireman's league at Manor Lanes. Fred was not only active in the local fire service, but also the state and county level. He was a member of FASNY, Fire District Officers of NYS, Erie County Volunteer Firefighters Association & the Erie County District Officers Association. He was President of both Erie County Volunteer Firefighters Association and Erie County District Officers Association in 2006 and 2007. Fred was survived by his wife Holli and their daughters, Angela Adams (Brad Pilarski) and Kristen (Christian) Burr, all of the Town of Tonawanda.
