Gail Chambers Obituary

Gail Chambers, née Vento, age 79, of Buffalo New York, passed December 27, 2025, peacefully in her home in Atlanta, Georgia. Born October 16, 1946, a longtime resident of Atlanta, Georgia, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Nancy Vitaris, Carol DiPasquale, and Geraldine Chambers, all of Western New York, and is survived by brother Jarome Vento of Greyson, Georgia. Beloved wife to Louis Chambers, she is further survived by her children, Shelly Chambers and Kevin Chambers, also of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, in addition to friends all over the world, too numerous to count. In addition to her love for art, she loved to travel, cook for her appreciative family and friends, and was a staunch supporter and advocate of children's charities. Alongside Louis, her surviving husband of more than 60 years, she helped change the face of Atlanta's diverse restaurant business. Gail devoted herself to being the best mother and wife possible and friend to all. She was known for her legendary hospitality, and all were welcome in her home and at her table. She will be sincerely missed by all those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Judes Hospital, a cause close to Gail's heart.

When I learned that Gail had "said goodbye ,"I had to search for the right moment to say what she's meant to me.
Lessons..
Wisdom ..We laughed about my baking a turkey with the giblets still inside...knowing I never liked cooking. .
She would always give me her take on something..whether I asked for it or not...and she helped me find ways to laugh at life's ups/downs and everything in between.
Longevity..How do I squeeze 47 yrs of friendship into a paragraph?
Loyalty..
Our bond was solid. Our love, trust and respect for one other kept us going. We knew we could lean on each other..Always.
So many precious memories are etched in my heart. I thank God for bringing Gail into my life.
I love you my friend.

Gail and I were both transplanted New Yorkers when we met in our Stone Mountain condo community in 1980. We hit it t off right from the start and became the closest of friends. She saw me through several heart breaking events in my life. I will miss her deeply but the memories linger on. Rest in peace my dear friend and know you were loved and admired by all who met you.
