Martha Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haisten McCullough Funeral Home on Mar. 26, 2026.
Martha Randolph Brown-a precious wife, loving mother, devoted educator, and woman of deep faith-passed away on March 25, 2026, in Griffin, Georgia, surrounded by her family.

Born in New Albany, Mississippi, to Billie and Christine Randolph, Martha grew up in Pleasant Ridge and Tupelo. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1967, she moved to Atlanta to serve as an administrative assistant at the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board. Her passion for teaching later led her to Southwest DeKalb and Columbia High Schools, and eventually to Middletown High School North and the Stuart Business School in New Jersey.

Martha's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Dr. Robert Brown; the two were engaged just one month after meeting nearly six decades ago. Together, they explored 18 countries and built a life centered on service. She also leaves behind her daughter, Andrea Brown Estes (Jamey) of Locust Grove, GA; her son, Robert Brown, III (Jennifer) of Fort Mill, SC; and seven cherished grandchildren: Andrew, Sarah, Samuel, and Hannah Estes, and Jordan, Jake, and Joseph Brown. She was the dear sister of Richard Randolph (Linda) and Mike Randolph (Kim).

Inheriting a creative spirit from her mother, Martha filled her home with intricate embroidery and vibrant paintings. When she wasn't crafting, she was often found tending to her backyard garden. Her love for her flowers was a reflection of her faith; fittingly, one of her favorite hymns was "In the Garden."

Martha was also an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering on Georgia Tech alongside her husband, Bob, and supporting the FSU Seminoles, the alma mater of her son, Rob, and grandson.

A pillar of her church communities, Martha was active in congregations across New Jersey and Georgia, most recently at First Baptist Church of Griffin. Whether leading Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, or helping build a New Jersey church from the ground up, her hands were always at work for her Lord.

A memorial service for Martha Randolph Brown will be conducted Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Griffin with Reverend Steven Norris and Dr. Bob Blankenship officiating. Mrs. Brown will be laid to rest at Lyons City Cemetery in Lyons, GA at a later date.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service hour in the Welcome Center of First Baptist Church in Griffin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ugandan Mission, Amani Sasa, PO Box 380034 Jacksonville, FL 32205 or at www.amanisasa.org.

To join the service virtually, visit www.fbcgriffin.org, select the "Worship" tab, click "Watch Live," and choose "Sanctuary Special Events." The stream will begin 10–15 minutes prior to the 11:00 AM service.
