It’s been four years and the unrestrained laughter of George during our long conversations the last four years of his life still reverberates. And today surrounded by so many lost lives we need more than ever the courage to face life exemplified by George.

My deepest condolences to the Barrios family. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Barrios for years. He was very kind to his patients and staff, so giving. I knew if I was assigned to his lab, that I was going to have a good day. He had a great sense of humor, everything was a "true Story". Most of all he was a wonderful human being. You will truly be missed Dr Barrios.

Dear Family,
Both my Mom and I were patients of this renowned Doctor. So kind and skilled. He instilled confidence in his patients. His staff loved him. It is too bad that a physician cannot heal thyself. His value lives on in eternity with our Lord. Rest in peace Dear Doctor. With thoughts and prayers.

Dear Olga,
God's will be done on earth...
It has been a long time since I saw you and George. We did not meet on most of the infrequent visits you made to the Philippines that I knew of. But I will always remember the youthful years we spent together. That is how George will remain in my memory, vibrant and full of life.
Please accept our condolences.

Dear Olga,
Please accept my sincere condolences. I will keep all memories from our medical school, our times together in surgical meetings, many phone calls, including those when George helped a family member on cancer chemotherapy in Buffalo Gen. Alita and I still remember our visit to Buffalo to meet Dr. Adler, and dinner at your home.
George fought well in his toughest battle. May he rest in peace.

Everyone knew how brilliant George was in medical school. Perhaps, only a few knew he shone brighter in more mundane things in life. He taught me how important it was to know the unimportant things in life and not to dwell on them. George is gone but not gone is his courage, faith and an uncanny sense of acceptance. Our heartfelt condolences to Olga and family.

My heartfelt sympathy to his family and close friends. He was truly an outstanding physician and person. He went beyond what was necessary in helping me find a physician for further surgery, even as he was dealing with his diagnosis. His example for us all in how to deal with a serious illness will never be forgotten. His cheerful spirit will always be with those close to him.. Peg Price (Grand Island, NY)

Mrs. Barrios and family, we never met, but your husband was much loved at the Buffalo Medical Group. As a partner in medical oncology, I would often stop by to see him when he was in for treatments, and his indomitable spirit was always apparent.
He exuded a humanness in his interactions that is too often lacking in our profession. The respect and thankfulness he showed our staff was a testimony to his basic goodness. The dignity he maintained throughout this ordeal was uplifting.
God be with you in this difficult time,
Bob Zielinski
