The world has lost a truly radiant spirit with the passing of Dr. George Pfohl, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. George, a man whose warmth and zest for life touched all who knew him, passed away peacefully at the age of 76. George shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Vicki. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, raising two daughters, Katherine and Margaret. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his five cherished grandchildren: Milo, William, Harry, Isabelle, and Kai, each of whom brought a special sparkle to his eyes. George was a veteran, having served his country in the Vietnam War. His service reflected his deep commitment to helping others and making a difference in the world, a commitment that extended throughout his life. George's infectious laughter often echoed amidst the beauty of the outdoors. Whether casting a line while fishing, sailing Lake Erie, exploring the creek, or camping out at the farm, George was happiest surrounded by nature and the company of his loved ones. Dr. Pfohl was a dedicated and compassionate physician who cared deeply for his patients. His commitment to healing extended far beyond his practice. Driven by a profound desire to give back, George embarked on numerous missionary trips to Nepal and Latin America. His adventurous spirit even led him deep into the Amazon rainforest on a dedicated mission to find a cure for river blindness, embodying his lifelong commitment to making the world a better place. George's warm heart, fun-loving nature, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and patients will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Family and friends are invited to attend Dr. Pfohl's Celebration of Life on July 18, 2025, at 5:00 pm at the West Side Rowing Club, 1 Rotary Row, Buffalo, New York 14201. The family kindly requests donations be made to Himalayan Healthcare in George's memory, continuing his commitment to global healthcare (https://www.himalayanhealthcare.org/). At this time everyone is cordially invited to share a favorite memory of Dr. Pfohl, sign the on-line guest book and light a candle in his honor.
