I met Gerald (Mr. Gunther) shortly after I moved to Holland with my husband and two children. One day I was working in the yard and saw a horse peek her head out of the barn door. I called Mr. Gunther and asked if my two young children and I could come down and pet his horse. This began several years of wonderful memories. Mr. Gunther taught my children how to drive his tractor and gator. We played with Heather, his cows, and sheep. Mr. Gunther had a longhorn steer that loved to be brushed. My children would swing on its long horns. We spent countless hours in the barn helping to clean, care for, and play with the animals. Mr. Gunther shared his knowledge with us about animal husbandry and the history of his farm. At one point he convinced us to purchase a horse so his horse, Heather, could have company. Those were great years. My children grew up hiking in his woods and playing in the creek. Something we truly enjoy to this day. Mr. Gunther, our memories of you are loving and fond. You will be missed.
