Gustave PRINSELL Obituary
100, of Houghton on July 13, 2022. He earned his MD from Columbia University Medical School, general surgery residency at the University of Michigan and a Tropical Medicine fellowship at the University of London. Dr. Prinsell served as a medical missionary in Sierra Leone, West Africa from 1957 to 1964, a family medicine physician in Houghton from 1964 to 1991 and also as the school physician at Houghton College and Fillmore Central School. His autobiography, "The Papa Bear", also tells of his WWII service, deep Christian faith and love of family. Husband of his beloved wife of 75 years, Louise; father of four sons, Jonathan, James, Jeffrey and Joel; grandfather of seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation: 2-4pm and 6:30-8:30pm Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Kopler-Williams FUNERAL HOME, Fillmore. Eulogy service: 6:30-8:30pm Friday, July 22, 2022 at Houghton Wesleyan Church. Funeral Service: 2pm Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Houghton Wesleyan Church. Share online condolences:
