February 22, 2023. Beloved husband of Susan Halpern; loving father of Bruce (Karin) Halpern, Lisa (Joel Sciandra) Halpern and Samantha Halpern (Avishai) Kantor; brother of Ralph (Harriet) Halpern; devoted grandfather of Brian (Emily) and Kevin Halpern, Julia, Katherine and John Barnes and Daniel and Shira Kantor; step-father of Michael Lee Jackson, Jessica (Dean von Essen) Jackson and Rachel (Angelo Caico) Jackson; cherished great-grandfather of Ezra, Jonah and Micah Halpern; step-grandfather of Samuel and Michael Caico and Leah and Alexa von Essen. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday 2PM at Temple Beth Zion, 805 Delaware Ave., Buffalo 14209. View live stream at tbz.org. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Beth Zion, Rabbi Brent Gutmann Discretionary Fund or the Philip Halpern Memorial Fund. Shiva will be held at Ralph and Harriet Halpern's residence Thursday 4-8PM with prayers at 7PM and Rachel Jackson's residence Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 1-4PM with prayers each day at 3PM. We are deeply saddened by the passing of a wonderful friend, brilliant mentor and beloved family man. Harold was such a thoughtful Jew, so committed to Israel and fellow Jews all over the world. He was a brilliant attorney and orator, and always eager to share his thoughts and beliefs.
May his memory be blessed and his family be comforted by good memories,Boruch Dayan Haemes.

Harold was a wonderful, highly intelligent, thoughtful and engaging person. His thoughtful writings about Israel in the last several years of his life we´re extraordinaire really well written, and well thought out and recent.
