Howard Wacker Obituary

WACKER - Howard F. 88, of Fayetteville, NY passed away on September 19, 2008. Howard was born in Buffalo on May 6, 1920, the son of Edward G. and Eva (Immel). Howard graduated from Fosdick-Masten Park High School in 1942 and then served his country as a corporal in the Army during WWII. He returned to the Buffalo area, working as a stationary engineer and was a member of Fidelity Council 6 of the Masonic Council of Engineers. Howard retired from Buffalo General Hospital in 1990, and spent the first ten years of his retirement in Tarpon Springs, Florida before moving to Central New York to be near his daughter. Howard was predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years, Doris (Kilmer), his dear sister Ethel (Holmes) and his big brothers, Edward, Walter, and Donald. He is survived by his daughter Kathy (Gary) Gilbert, two grandchildren, Michelle (Joshua) Snow and Michael, a great-granddaughter, Amaya, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 25 at Cleveland Heights Christian Church, 4774 Union Road, Cheektowaga.
