I found a picture of wood chuck face today. Its been over a year since I cried for you. I finally felt ok and then 4 days ago when we hit the 12 year mark and I was watching aidan playing football with scotty on dingens where we used to watch you play .I lost it. And he is at McKinley. He's a bulldog! You'd be so proud at how he's grown up and scotty too. I didn't give up on Scott and the adoption is almost final. All the plans we had I've pushed through with instead of just burying myself in grief and not living. Without you it hurts but knowing I'm accomplishing what we planned and doing it with you in my heart is still the greatest gift. We miss you every day and we hope up there you are happy and watching over all of us. I love you.

wow, 11 yrs has gone by and it feels like yesterday i heard your voice,time has gone by so quickly, you'd be so proud of aidan. He turned 14 this yr, and he is going to play football next year, he's a linebacker. i wish you were here right now, i havent cried in years but today i am. i love you until the day i die.

with all my love and respect for a veteran and a friend Jacob will always be remembered for what he has done as a person who respected everyone and showed friendship and caringness when a person was in need. Remember him as the friend, fellow brother in arms, veteran, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin in everyones eyes Jake was taller than most but he never looked down at a person in a negative way he was always honest in his words and would always give a hand to help someone when in need and never asked for anything more than for them to enjoy the rest of their day. Jake we will all miss you but you will never be forgotten. Our love and respect for you is what every family member needs to continue on, with your help the little push on our back to keep going is what we ask and nothing more. You were strong for us when we needed you now we will continue being strong for you Love you bro and you will always be missed by millions but forgotten by none. Halbert Family,
Some of my favorite times in highschool were with Jake. Whether it was just hanging out with him and Jenn, or on the football field in highschool, he always was in a good mood ready to make us laugh. He was a great friend to me during that time. I am truly sorry for your loss.
