To the Leary Family:
We are sorry to hear of your loss, and please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. As one of many kids growing up on Edgewood Avenue, we formed a ragtag football team known as the Edgewood Eagles. Mr. Leary made sure we all got trophies at the end of the "season". That meant a lot to us kids, and I still remember that kind gesture some 30-odd years later and always will.
God Bless,
Brian and Ann Marie Quinn and Family

I want you to know that my houghts and prayers at with you at this difficult time. I am sorry that I could not be in Buffalo to express my sympathy in person.

To the Leary Family,
My first job was working as a civil servant in the Erie County Recreation Department. I was only 18 and anxious about starting my adult working life. Jim was one of my first bosses. He made me feel welcomed and served as one of my mentors. His outgoing personality and positive attitude was contagious. Jim loved his work and politics but most of all, he treasured his devoted wife and family.
I am sure that Jim's ready smile and twinkling Irish eyes will make the heavens shine a little brighter.
My prayers and thoughts are with the entire Leary family along with my deepest sympathy. God bless you.

I was in the unique position, because of age, to become Jims 10th child. After the death of our dad, I was blended into the Leary gang at 23 Edgewood. “Grumps” wrote the book on how to be a husband, a father and a provider. His work ethic, guidance and most of all love has been the road map for many.
Thanks for everything you did not only for me but for everyone you came in contact with.
Love Timmy.

Dear Modonna & Family,
Please accept our sympathy regarding your dad's death. After reading his obituary, it is obvious that he was a very special man. With all of his children and grandchildren, the significance of his life will live for generations, as his story will continue to be told. Of course, this will not bring him back now, but tears of sorrow will turn to joy as you work through these most difficult days.
Please know that we are praying for all of you and that we are here for you should you need anything.
God's peace and love,
Mark and Peg

God saw you were getting tired,
and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you.
and whispered "Come to Me."
Although we love you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly passed away.
A Golden heart stopped beating.
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us.
He only takes the Best.
